Sovereign Divers is 40!

Sovereign Divers, Eastbourne Sub Aqua Club, is celebrating it's 40th birthday with a get together of old and new members at the Printers Bar in Station Street, Eastbourne on the 12th of May 2012 from 7pm to midnight, cost £20 pp. If you would like to join us, please get in touch with Claire Pooley on 07595 465948.

London International Dive Show 2012 'photos

The clubs promotion at The London International Dive Show event went very well, a big Thank You from the club to all those that organised and helped out.

A few words from Darren Rogers;

"I would like to say a big thank you to following members for their help on our Branch pod which was on the main BSAC stand at the dive show for the weekend. Karl Barker, Phil Lloyd, Dave Burton, Jim Harvey, Nicky Hiller, Graham Smith, Simon Butcher, Claire Pooley, Kiernan Pooley and Gary Kennedy. It all went very well and gave the club some good exposure, with the good possibility of an article in Scuba magazine about the club which would be great for everyone to be involved in."

Sovereign Divers are the Eastbourne branch of BSAC (British Sub-Aqua Club) We are a lively diving club diving mainly off the Eastbourne coastline; we are very fortunate to have easy access to some of the best wreck dives in the English channel.

The club meet up every Tuesday evening at around 8:00 in the Sovereign Harbour Yacht Club to socialise and plan for the next week's diving as well as conducting dive training, planning social events, trips away etc.

Any visitors will be made welcome - for a chat about what we can offer, answers to any questions that you may have about the club and maybe a pint or two if you are so inclined! there are directions to reach here on the Yacht Club website (link above)

We have excellent club facilities, including the very well equipped 6.8m RIB 'Sovereign Diver', which we run out of Sovereign Harbour with the advantages of very easy access to the boat and free car parking.

We also have a 'state of the art' gas station with banked air, as well as nitrox and trimix facilities. Air fills are available free of charge to all members, with nitrox and trimix at a minimal cost.

The club has a wide range of scuba training equipment freely available to any of our members for training or loan purposes. Please click here for more information on the excellent training possibilities.

Make some new friends!

If you are not already qualified as a scuba diver we would be delighted to train you to become a safe diver in our friendly club environment, and you can choose either BSAC or PADI qualification. If you are already a qualified diver then we welcome all divers trained by any agency, not just those who've trained with BSAC (e.g. PADI, CMAS or SSAC) who want to go diving, join a club of like-minded individuals or perhaps advance their training to a more advanced level.

Our club instructors are registered and approved by BSAC, PADI or both! We can also arrange training to IANTD level. So you can be sure of the best professional instruction avaliable.

Club membership provides:

Full BSAC membership (includes BSAC insurance and monthly magazine)
Eastbourne Sub-Aqua Club membership
Free use of the clubs compressors 7 days a week
Access to BSAC diver and boat handling training courses
Access to the boat diving agenda

Come diving!

We are always looking for new club members so if you are interested in learning to dive, improving your diving skills or simply going diving around the Eastbourne area, why not come and visit us?

We dive as often as weather allows throughout the season, usually April to October (although some hard cases dive all the year round) We also organise dive trips to various locations on a fairly regular basis, to places like the Red Sea in Egypt and Scapa Flow.
